Ref#253:
I. Christopher Foster (1603-87) & Frances ? (1610-) emigrated from London
17 Jun 1635 on the Abigail. They travelled with their three oldest
children. Christopher was recorded as a farmer. They settled at Lynn,
MA, where Christopher became a freeman in 1637. In 1638, he was granted
60 acres. At one point, the Fosters lived in Nahant St., Lynn.
Christopher may have been part of original Lynn group that settled
Southhampton, LI; Christopher first appears in records there in 1651.
Chidren: Rebecca (1630-); Nathaniel (1633-) who moved to Huntington,
Long Island; John (1634-); Benjamin; Hannah m. Daniel Sayre; Ancestor
Joseph; and Sarah (c1640-3 Oct 1692) m. Samuel Johnes.

II. Joseph Foster (1638-30 Jan 1708) married c1667 Abigail ? and lived in
Southhampton. They had ten children: Joseph (c1665-1704); Christopher
(c1668-1748) m. Hannah Pierson and m2d Abigal (Lipton) Topping; Daniel
(1676-5 Nov 1744) m. Lydia Wood; Ancestor Nathan; Jeremiah; Peter; Sarah;
Mehitable; Damaris m. 9 Dec 1714 Jeremiah Culver; and Penelope.

III. Nathan Foster (c1683-18 Nov 1737) moved to Elizabethtown, NJ and
married Mary Lyon (c1685-1740+), daughter of Joseph Lyon. Nathan and
Mary moved to Newark after their marriage. A 1713 Newark deed lists him
as a clothier living in Newark. They had returned to Elizabeth by 1726,
when a deed identifies him living there, near Bound Green. He died at
Elizabeth, NJ and was interred at the Old Burial Ground, Orange. The
inventory of his will include silver spoons, books, and a black male
slave. Children: Joseph (-18 Aug 1742) m. Bethia (Lyon) Winans; Job
(1734-18 Jan 1793) m. Abigail Johnes; Abigail; Mary; Sarah; and Damaris
m. Stephen Day.
