George was first a farmer and then a hardware merchant in Hayfield, Iowa.
Notes
An item in the Oct. 10th, 1893 Forest City paper tells of George W.
Lackore, Madison Twp. Mail Carrier, the route from Forest City to Steen
(Grant Twp.) Winnebago Co. to
be discontinued. Lackore was allowed one month's extra pay. The three
oldest sons of George and Mary at one time owned much of the town of
Hayfield.
