Notes
When I called on Isaac Ball Esq. (formerly of Parsippany now near
Whippany) he requested me to write to the war office to enquire about the
bounty land due the heirs of his Uncle Joshua Ball, who died in the
Continental Army. The commisioner of Pensions answered that a warrent
had been issued to one David Bradford, who claimed to be the nephew and
Heir of Joshua Ball. Isaac Ball says this David Bedford who so slily
appropriated the whole of the 100 acres to himself, had no just claim to
it. I understood him that Bedford's mother was a half sister to Joshua.
